How does Colombia work?


Colombia is divided into 32 departments (departamentos), which work like the United States's States or like the Canadian provinces. Each department has its capital, but the country's capital city (Bogota), is treated as a separate department.

The country's laws, however, are exactly the same in all departments, they do not vary.

These are all of the departments of Colombia, with their capitals:

Colombia is located in the South American continent, it is the only country in South American that limits with both the Pacific and the Atlantic seas. It shares borders with:
